Audit the voltage. Calculate the maximum number of solar panels per string based on the Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) and local minimum temperature to prevent inverter damage.
Solar panels are semiconductors; they become more efficient in the cold. At -10°C, a panel rated for 45.5V actually outputs 50.3V. Exceeding the inverter's limit, even for a millisecond, will cause catastrophic failure.
